How in the world is spring already here? March was a busy month in our house - field trips, spring break staycation, the start of the lacrosse season and our son turned the big double digits! I also read a bit more than I was able to do so in January and February. As usual, I was focused on fiction this past month. I don't know if it's because I listen to a lot of podcasts when I walk or cook, but I have a hard time deviating from fiction when I chose a new book.

March brought me some lovely new friends. I read:

  • The Snowbirds by Christina Clancy - 8/10

  • Good Material by Dolly Alderton - 8/10

  • The Heiress by Rachel Hawkins - 6/10

  • The Case of the Missing Maid by Rob Osler - 9/10

  • Margot's Got Money Troubles by Rufi Thorpe - 10/10

I honestly love them all but really loved The Case of the Missing Maid (fingers crossed there's a second one in the works) and Margot's Got Money Troubles. All were delightful and fun reads - perfect for the crazy weather March brings. If you'd like to check out the March fiction releases - check out my blog post for the recommendations!

On to new fiction releases I'm looking forward to in April 2025... off we go!

A spellbinding literary mystery that bends time and genre—part ode to classic whodunits, part razor-sharp contemporary thriller, and at its heart, a luminous, aching exploration of how loss reshapes a life. Buy on Amazon: Fair Play by Louise Hegarty

What’s a bride to do when an audacious art heist crashes her wedding week—and exposes buried truths? The #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Maid delivers another irresistible blend of mystery, humor, and heart in this captivating novel about the chaos we keep—and the secrets we steal. I'm personally super excied for this one as I've read all the other books in this series and they are such fun. Buy on Amazon: The Maid's Secret by Nina Prose

Welcome back to Castle Knoll—where quaint charm hides deadly history. In Kristen Perrin’s spellbinding sequel, Annie Adams uncovers a chilling crime spanning generations, proving that even the most picturesque villages have skeletons in their closets. A peasant boy. A stolen crown. In Tudor England, 10-year-old Lambert Simnel is catapulted from obscurity into a lethal battle for the throne—where survival hinges on playing the perfect pretender. Buy on Amazon: The Pretender by Jo Harkin

A bittersweet, darkly funny road trip novel about a cranky old man determined to track down his long-lost high school sweetheart—dragging along his exasperated daughter, two orphaned kids, and a morbidly prescient cat. A story of second chances, unlikely families, and the stubborn persistence of love. Buy on Amazon: Road To Tender Hearts by Annie Hartnett

She went to the desert to bury her past. Now it’s the only thing that can save her.
