New Year's Eve Outfit Inspo for Elder Millenials and Gen X

Long gone are the days when I wanted to wiggle into sky high heels, a micro mini skirt and sequined tank top for New Year's Eve. Man, those days of ringing in the New Year at a dance club or huge party were epic (from what I remember). I'm glad I had a raging good time dancing the night away in my 20's and early 30's and, frankly, I'm also glad I'm no longer doing it.

As I hit my late 30's and 40's, ringing in NYE started to look vastly different. We began to have smaller house parties with good friends...get dressed up, cook a good meal, play a round of Cards Against Humanity, and if we get really crazy, a living room dance party. Or my husband and I meet another couple for an early dinner at our favorite Italian spot followed by fancy silk pajamas while watching the ball drop from our couch. But what I really love is hosting a party at our house where everyone can bring their kids, pizza, bang the pots and pans at midnight and stay in our comfy soft sweaters and sneakers. Whatever you plan to do (and hey, if you're 45 and rocking it out at a rager - KUDOS to you!) we have some great outfit ideas for wherever your night is taking you. And when I say great outfits, I hate to say it but I think I mean outfits where we can still feel like ourselves and still be glamorously dressed up or stylishly dressed down without having to delve into the trends that Gen Z are embracing.
