I first saw the Bogg Bag at our local pool last summer. I didn’t just see it - all of a sudden I seemed to be the ONLY person not carrying one. It was like they sprung up like mushrooms overnight. When I went to look them up, I was a little shocked by the price. The XL Bogg Bag can run about $90 - $100. I’m willing to spend money on good sunscreen but beach bags? I don’t think they should be that expensive. I’ve found several Bogg Bag dupes and alternatives on Amazon that don’t break the bank and look just as good as the real thing.
We spend enough on the beach as it is - pool toys, sand toys, snacks and beverages, towels, beach chairs - it all adds up. A beach bag shouldn’t contribute to the expenses of summer! I was trying to figure out what made the Bogg Bag’s such a loved item and it seems to be a few reasons:
Waterproof
Easy To Clean and Carry
Lightweight
Doesn’t tip over
Big & Sturdy
Durable
Good Size
There are several high-quality look-a-like Bogg Bags. You just need to be sure the dupe you’re getting meets the above requirements if you truly want something close to the Bogg Bag. Here are the top 10 Bogg Bag dupes I’ve scouted out that well within more reasonable price ranges. The first two are my absolute favorites, but the rest are great quality and just as good options.
This is made of EVA material and has a water-resistant zipper pocket. It holds a ton and truly is a great quality that rivals the Bogg Bag. It comes in several colors in medium, large and extra large. I got the large and found it plenty big enough.
This one is a little more similar to the Bogg Bag with the little white button details on the end of the handles. It has removable straps and a removable clear zipper pouch on the inside. It comes in some really pretty vibrant colors.
Quick drying EVA material, strong and durable. This comes in two sizes: large and XL. Bonus? It comes with two cute charms that they match to the color or pattern your choose. Adorable!
Half the price of the real Bogg Bag, you can't go wrong with this one. It's roomy and ofcourse has that flat bottom that everyone loves.
Listed as an Amazon overall pick, it comes in a few different colors and patterns but how can you resist this cow print! It comes in one size but has extra large capacity and supports up to 75lbs of goods (but I don't know who wants to take 75lbs of stuff to the beach?!?)
6. The Magg Bag
This one comes with a crossbody strap! I love that! It gives you a nice option if you don't want to put the two straps directly over your shoulder.
While this one differs a bit from the Bogg Bag as it doesn't have holes, this is a great option if you're looking for something with a slightly different design. Not having holes can be a bit of a plus as it doesn't allow water or sand to enter the bags as easily.
For those of you looking for something a little smaller, this is a great option. While it still is large in space, it's a nice option if you're looking to be a little more streamlined and not bring everything but the kitchen sink. (Smaller also means a better price point!)
For those of you with a Sam’s Club membership, I heard they have a great Bogg Bag alternative currently on their shelves as does Aldi. I’m going to head to Aldi this week to check them out!
