Autumn leaves aren't the only things turning over a new leaf this season. The literary world is bursting with fresh fall fiction and books that will have you curled up by the fire, sipping your pumpkin spice latte, and losing track of time. Whether you're a fan of heart-pounding thrillers, family sagas or chick lit, we've got you covered. So grab your favorite blanket, get cozy, and dive into these must-read books as you watch the leaves fall outside your window.
Note: Just like I did for my summer book recos, I'm including links to purchase on both Amazon and Bookshop. Bookshop is a site that financially supports independent and local bookstores and I think that is amazing. Happy Reading!
I just started this one. Shout to one of my favorite independent bookstores in Michigan, Between the Covers, for recommending this to me. This one has a little bit of everything: family drama, ghosts, marriage and past lives all set on the coast of Maine.
Did you read (or watch) Everything He Never Told Me? If you did, then you know Laura Dave is a master of thrillers. A tale of half-siblings investigating their father's death only to find out there was a lot they didn't actually know about him.
This is the follow-up to Haig's novel, The Midnight Library. (Which if you haven't read it yet - put it on your list! I devoured it in one evening.) This is a tender novel about tapping into the magic of life and the gift of second chances.
I am SO excited for this one! EEK! I adored Osman's The Thursday Murder Club series and I'm thrilled this looks to be the start of another new whodunit series. Described as super fun and entertaining, I can't wait to see what a new dectective duo is up to!
Pulitzer Prize winner Elizabeth Strout brings us a new novel about the bonds of friendship, the echoes of past love, and the universal drive to make a difference. If you're into Oprah Book Club picks, this one has her stamp of approval.
I haven't read anything by Jami Attenberg but I'm finding this novel being praised in several reviews with Amazon awarding it an Editor's Pick in Best Literature and Fiction. This family saga spans a 40-year time period detailing the lives, loves and losses of a mother and her three daughters.
This is being touted as a heart-wrenching tale of loss and love, brought to life by the acclaimed Irish author Sally Rooney. The story follows two brothers exploring a pause in life while they in the throes of grief.
Another Irish author, I haven't picked up a Roddy Doyle book since I read Paddy Clark Ha Ha Ha for an undergrad class, so I'm really looking forward to this one. It's being described as a very emotional and raw mother-daughter story. I have a feeling I might need the tissues for this one.
