I just read an article about how Gen Z does not understand why elder millennials and Gen X use ellipses. We elders (ahem) use them to make sure the reader knows we are separating our thoughts and mean to convey a casual, laid-back attitude. But to younger millennials and Gen Z they can interpret the ellipses as hesitation or passive aggression. I find it fascinating that colloquial language can mean one thing to one generation and something entirely different to another. Anywho... Here are some of the things the peaked my interest this week.
I had a bunch of zucchini I didn't know what to do with, so I made this recipe for Zucchini Muffins. They were 10 out of 10. I even got a picky 9-year-old to eat one—slathered in butter, of course.
To stay more organized, I ordered this planner from Papier. I like that it doesn't have dates on the pages, so if I skip a day using it, I'm not wasting a page dedicated to a certain day. You can note your schedule, to-do list, notes, weekly goals, etc. I got it in tan, but green was my second choice.
Love, love, LOVE these jeans from Anthropologie. I like to pair them with my Adidas Gazelles as they are a bit cropped and perfect for showing off your latest sneaker obsession. I think I'm going to order the linen version as well.
This mandolin is one of my favorite kitchen gadgets if you cook a lot. I used it this week to thinly slice brussel sprouts for a salad and they came out perfectly thin. Chef's kiss to this fantastic kitchen tool. It also comes with gloves so you don't risk hurting your fingers with the blade.
My husband and I started The Gentlemen this week on Netflix. I've always been a Guy Ritchie fan, but this show is pure fun.
Currently reading How to Solve Your Own Murder. I guess I'm still on the thriller kick, but so far so great! I will be sure to include in in my next book review.
Last but not least, when I was in Iceland a few years ago I had a piece of chocolate that was right up my alley - flavored with licorice. I know that's not everyone's thing but if you do happen to like licorice, you need this in your life. I ordered a box of 10 and they just came this week. So happy.
