Last-Minute Mother's Day Gift Ideas for Every Budget

I don’t know about you, but with Mother’s Day a week away, I am fully in a last-minute panic to make sure I have the right gifts for all the ladies in my life. As most moms know, buying Mother’s Day gifts typically falls on us, the moms. We somehow end up doing the Mother’s Day planning, organizing, buying, wrapping, last-minute dash for cards, getting our kids to make homemade gifts for grandmas, cooking, and on and on. But hey - if all of us women and moms checked out for even a day we all know how that would end! I could write an entire post on my feelings about that (ahem), but in the spirit of keeping this upbeat and fun - I’ll save those thoughts for later. ;)

I fully realize that gift-giving isn’t what the day is about. We’re meant to honor and acknowledge the badass women who raised us, protected us, guided us, and encouraged us to find our wings. The moms who are our friends, confidants, mentors, sounding boards, and support systems deserve to be seen and appreciated. Some of my friends are fur-baby moms; some have bonus kids, and some don’t have kids at all but are awesome women who chose to open their hearts to our littles. For many, this day is bittersweet, heartbreaking, and full of nostalgia. We’re feeling all the feels! The women who shape us, here or not, are the strongest fibers of our being. So - let’s celebrate them! If you want our favorites in sneakers and handbags, see our posts on those as well: sneakers & handbags

Gifts are obviously a lovely gesture.  But so are thoughtful, no-cost ideas like handmade cards, a flower picked from a garden, or hot coffee and a newspaper delivered to the tired mama in bed. Sometimes, a simple acknowledgment is all you need (that and maybe to be left alone for an hour or seven.)

That said,I like giving gifts. It feels great to bring joy to someone and make them smile. I’m not always an expert at expressing my feelings, so gifts often do the talking for me. I typically try to shop local and support small businesses, but we’re all busy and need to cut a few corners sometimes. Below you’ll find some awesome options via Amazon that will hopefully hit your doorstep before May 12th.

Oh - and ladies? You should ABSOLUTELY feel empowered to buy yourself something for Mother’s Day. Do it. You deserve it. We all love those handmade cards but if you really want that new pair of shoes or luxe robe you’ve been eyeing - GO. FOR. IT. Treat yourself! I hope you have a fantastic Mother’s Day!
