Ahh, the holiday season is here with winter enveloping us in its big warm hug. Not only do I love to read by the fire, but I end up downloading Audible holiday books. I love listening to them while I’m wrapping and driving from store to store to buy stocking stuffers. I have such a distinct recollection of my first holiday Audible being Sophia Kinsella’s Christmas Shopaholic and wondering if the pile of gifts I was wrapping was making the book hit a little too close to home, hehe.

This is set in the Scottish Highlands and I don’t know about you, but I can just imagine the most beautiful Christmas settings in that lovely part of the world. Jenny Colgan is a master at Christmas stories and I’m excited for this one as well as it just came out (10/2025). Hired to track down a rare and valuable book hidden within the ruins of a Highland castle, Mirren Sutherland finds herself snowed in with a handsome laird and an infuriatingly irresistible rival. Murder at Holly House by Denzil Meyrick
While I know there is a legion of you that want warm, comfy cozy reads during the holiday season, I do like to spice things up a bit and throw in a muder-mystery or thriller here or there. Released October 7, 2025, this new Christmas mystery gives the same vibes as an Agatha Christie holiday book. Based on true events, this historical novel is perfect for the holidays. Review: I just finished this! I listened to the Audible audiobook while doing all my Thanksgiving hosting prep. I loved it. If you’re a fan of The Crown, traditions of Christmas, and a feel-good love story, this one is for you. I gave it four stars on Goodreads. So – why not give it a go? These holiday stories are inspired by Capote’s own past in rural Alabama. It was wonderful reviews and people noting it’s “absolutely delightful” and “poignant and brings me back to my childhood”. Well – consider me happy to add this to my list!
