New Fiction: March 2026

Gah! I’m late to the game in sharing my picks for the new fiction releases for March 2026! But… it’s not like the books are going anywhere. Admittedly, I wasn’t quite as excited for the releases this month as I have been in the past. I like a good mix of historical fiction, thriller, mystery, and literary fiction. (If you’ve read any of my past book-ish posts, you’ll know I’m not a fan of romance, sci-fi or fantasy. If that’s your genre interests, I am so sorry that my preferences don’t reflect those choices!)

barnes and noble book display

All of that aside, I did find ten releases that sound fantastic. Spoiler – one of them is not fiction. I did throw a biography in there because it’s an author I truly admire… you’ll have to go through the full list to find out who it is!

Last month I read some really fabulous books:

On A Quiet Street by Seraphina Nova Glass (this was a selection made by my bookclub)

Heart the Lover by Lily King

Old Money by Kelsey Miller

Lost Lambs by Madeline Cash

I cannot say enough about Heart the Lover and Lost Lambs. Heart the Lover reminded me of that period of time in college when passion, curiosity, friendship, and heartbreak fill your days and the bonds of shared experiences and love quietly define you later in life. By the end I had tears streaming down my face without even realizing it. Lost Lambs was quirky, funny and beyond timely. I’m hoping to read many of the below. I actually went to Barnes and Noble yesterday looking for Lake Effect by Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeny but it must not be a book they carry. So instead, I walked out with The Secret Lives of Murderers’ Wives by Elizabeth Arnott. I’m still finishing up another book but as soon as I’m done, I’ll be cracking it open – sounds juicy!
