Last summer, I became obsessed with straw purses and totes. I had been carrying leather bags for quite some time and was beyond ready to switch things up. There’s something about a straw bag that just screams summer (and even though it's April at the time I'm writing this - I'm more than ready for summer!). Whether you’re headed to a rooftop happy hour, a beach getaway, or just running errands, a woven tote or raffia clutch instantly elevates your look with that effortless, sun-soaked vibe. And guess what? Straw and woven bags are everywhere in 2025.

Straw bags have always been a warm-weather staple, but this year, they’re getting a major refresh. Last year I bought two from Amazon - just a structured over-the-shoulder style that I wore quite a bit and straw clutch with my initials that a friend gifted me a couple of years ago. But i'm ready to dive into the new looks I've been seeing for 2025. Designers are playing with shapes more than ever - think structured mini bags, slouchy hobos, and even woven bucket bags, making them way more versatile than your classic beach tote. Plus, sustainability is still huge, and natural materials like raffia, seagrass, and bamboo are having a major moment. Straw and woven bags look so cute when paired with linen sets, flowy midi dresses, and even denim for that perfect "I just threw this on but look insanely chic" energy.

The Best Straw & Woven Bags to Shop Now

1. The Timeless Tote

Every summer wardrobe needs a classic straw tote. They can range from conservative with clean lines to boho and whimsical.

Style it with: A breezy linen dress, oversized sunglasses, and strappy sandals.

2. The Structured Mini

If you love a small-but-mighty bag, you’ll adore these teeny woven clutches. These small straw structured bags add texture to simple outfits without overwhelming your frame.

Style it with: High-waisted cropped jeans, a tucked-in tank, and heels for a night out.

3. The Slouchy Hobo

For a more relaxed look, go for the ultra-chic slouchy straw bags that feel polished yet undone. Perfect for the girl who wants that "quiet luxury" aesthetic.

4. The Unexpected Shape

There are some really cool avant-garde silhouettes—think crescent moons, geometric baskets, and even woven shoulder bags with bold hardware.

Style it with: A slip dress and chunky sandals to let the bag shine.

5. The Standard Clutch

Who says straw bags can’t be glam? There are so many straw clutches crafted of sleek, raffia clutches with metallic accents or beaded detailing—perfect for summer weddings, date nights, or even just elevating a casual look.

6. The Versatile Crossbody

Crossbody bags are my go-to. 95% of the time I'm reaching for a crossbody bag, even for evenings out if it's not a clutch, and there are some really cute casual straw crossbody bags and some that are a little more sleek and elegant.

Style it with: Shorts, strappy flat sandals and a tank top to let the straw crossbody shine as the pop of fun in an everyday outfit.
