Admittedly, I’ve been a “furniture snob” for a long time. When we moved into our home ten years ago, we marched straight into Ethan Allen and proceeded to pick out a sectional couch, two arm chairs, a bed frame, coffee table, two swivel chairs for our sunroom and a dining room table. Fortunately, being able to finance everything meant it wasn’t quite the hit to our pocketbook if we had outright paid for everything in one fell swoop. I do like investing in quality products when I know it’s something we want, and will need, to have for a long time. It makes sense. A good dining room table that will stand the test of time for the next 20-30 years? Yes, I consider that worth the investment.
However, there are other pieces of home decor and furniture that I’m willing to go the more affordable route. If it’s not something that gets a ton of use or isn’t in a prominent room, I will typically tend to hunt around on Wayfair, Birch Lane, Amazon, etc. In our sunroom I have two beautiful Arhaus glider chairs and a wicker oversized chair.
