Travel Accessories That Bring Comfort
There’s something magical about traveling, exploring new places, meeting new people, and creating unforgettable memories. But let’s be real: no matter how exciting the destination, there’s nothing quite like the comfort of home. I think we all know it – the sigh of relief when you walk back in your door after coming back from a trip. The smells are familiar, you’ve got your own bed and pillow back, and all your favorite products are stocked in the shower. That’s not to say home is better than travel! But when we are traveling it’s always nice to have some of the creature comforts that we have on the daily during our everyday lives.

A few of my “comfort favorites”? I like to travel with an oversized soft cashmere wrap that I bought on an impulse at a store on Nantucket ten years ago. It is so incredibly soft and warm and the fact that it’s so large allows me to wear it as a wrap, a scarf or bunched up for a cozy impromptu pillow. I also like to go and get samples of my favorite skincare and make-up (if they have it). I hate squeezing my everyday products into those plastic tubes as I feel like I’m wasting it if I don’t use it all. I also don’t like to travel without my go-to serums and lotions. Tip? Head to your favorite Sephora or Ulta and ask if they have travel-sized or samples of your favorite skincare, make-up or perfume. Additionally, I always take a small candle for hotel rooms or air b-n-b’s. I will often pick a new scent so that when I get home and burn the same scent, it reminds me of that specific travel location. Lastly, my go-to comfort travel accessory is anything having to do with my feet – slippers, my favorite pair of budget Ugg dupes, cashmere socks, a little baggie of epsom salts to soak my feet after a particularly active day of sight seeing, and a peppermint foot rub. Who says you can’t indulge in a little self-care while you’re traveling? You need it! Oh, and don’t forget that you need to be comfortable on a plane, train or roadtrip but still look pulled together. I swear by these polished, chic loungewear sets.

Why These Accessories Matter
Travel isn’t just about the destination — it’s about how you feel when you land. Swapping in a neck wrap, compression socks, or a foot hammock can mean the difference between arriving stiff vs refreshed and allow you to feel comfortable during the trip as well. Here’s what to look for, and a few real traveler tips I collected. Whether you’re jet-setting solo, planning a girls’ trip, or traveling with your family, having a few thoughtful travel accessories can make all the difference. These items bring a touch of familiarity and ease to your journey, so you can feel at home no matter where you are.

Compact Travel Steamer
Wrinkled clothes can make even the chicest outfit look frumpy. A compact travel steamer ensures you always look polished, no matter how long your journey. I once tried to steam a dress using a hotel shower – obviously, that didn’t work. I then tried to iron the delicate fabric, but ended up burning the dress (which I was wearing to a wedding!). This tiny steamer, however, is my ride-or-die ever since. It heats up fast and even works well with linen. Shop Now: Hilife Steamer

Packable Hanging Shelf
Do you ever get frustrated being stuck living out of your suitcase due to lack of drawers or storage in the place your staying? This is a great solution! Hang it up on a closet or even on the back of the door so you can unpack and stay organized. This thing made me feel like I had my life together for the first time in a hotel room. Normally, I explode my suitcase across every available surface, but with this hanging shelf, I just lift it out and, voilà, instant mini closet. Shop Now: Packable Hanging Shelf
Mini Espresso Machine
If you’re headed to Italy, this probably isn’t something you need to take… but anywhere else? Genius! Never be without a little shot of caffeine. One thing that irks me when I’m traveling is not having immediate access to coffee (blech to hotel room coffee) so this keeps me sane in the mornings. Shop Now: Mini Espresso Machine
Korean Skin Care Face Mask
Something I love to bring with me is a skincare mask of some kind. For instance, after a long day of skiing during a recent trip, my skin was irritated from the wind and weather. I took a collagen sheet mask and it instantly made my face feel so much better. Great to feel revived and pampered. Shop Now: COSRX Snail Mucin Sheet Mask
Portable Charger
I’m never without my portable charger, even when I’m not traveling. These hard working little machines are a lifesaver. Out and about in a city all day or in the countryside for an all day tour? Having a portable charger will always make sure you have access to keeping your phone, watch, laptop, iPad, etc. always charged and ready. For me, I like the assurance of knowing that my phone won’t die and I won’t be left without access to ride sharing apps or maps. Shop Now: Portable Charger
