Life, Lately: 9.18.26
I’m writing this staring out my window on a gorgeous end-of-summer afternoon. I have the Five Minute Journal that I use every day to spend a tiny bit of time appreciating all that’s good in life. I have a tendency to feel completely overwhelmed by things happening in the world, time passing so quickly and it can bog me down mentally and physically. This little journal (along with meditating and participating in other mindful activities) helps keep me grounded, grateful and aware of all that is good in my life. Today, I wrote about the fact that I appreciate my (home) office view overlooks a luscious backyard surrounded by trees, the birds are chirping and I have the loveliest candle burning. That’s it. Just a few simple things to be aware of that I may not normally notice or appreciate.

On the docket this weekend? Our small town has their local art fair, which I look forward to every year but it’s supposed to rain all weekend. Nevermind, I’ll throw on the rainboots and tough it out as I really do like to support local artists. Plus, art fairs are always a good place to find early holiday gifts for folks.

I had every intention of going to the theatre to see Practical Magic 2, but time slipped away and I never made it. As we are just a couple of days from fall, I am in the MOOD for it (check out all the magical vibes I’m into here) so I’ll make sure that happens.
And, a trip to the farmer’s market to get our favorite sourdough bread, ground cherries and fresh eggs along with brunch with a dear friend on Sunday morning is by far the most I want to pack into a weekend. Maybe a nap?

A few things…
I’m constantly on the search for a really good planner. I’ve been using one from Papier but it’s laid out in a weekly format and lacks a daily “to-do” list and I need that! Someone suggested the Blue Sky planner so I may order and give it a try. I will say, if you’re looking for a great stand-alone daily planner, this desk pad is my fav! It’s nice and big and there’s something about the way your pen sinks into the paper on this one.
I got a $50 gift card randomly sent to me from Everlane (so nice!!) and I plan to use it to buy these pants.
I love EVERYTHING the designers did with this New York home.
I just ordered this cookbook and am so excited to get it (hopefully this weekend). I can’t wait to make the Tomato Confit Bruschetta as I currently have a wild abundance of tomatoes from my garden.
100% going to rock this ring the second the autumnal equinox kicks into gear.
If there is any small town I’d like to visit in October; Woodstock, VT has been on my bucket list for years. Maybe I’ll find a way to make it happen this year.
I love Sharon Horgan (Bad Sisters) and cannot wait to watch her new show that premieres this weekend. Other shows I want to catch this fall can be found here.
I picked up this juicer in a little shop in Northern Michigan this summer and I cannot say enough good things about it. It lays flat in your drawer, catches any seeds (usually) and is great for any of you that like juice a lot (I am constantly squeezing fresh lemon in my water).
Have a fab weekend!!
