Serena & Lily Kitchen Dupes: Get The Same Coastal Vibe on a Budget

Serena & Lily kitchen pieces are beloved for their coastal, airy aesthetic, but most items run $400–$1,600+. Budget-friendly dupes from retailers like Amazon, Wayfair, and Target can achieve the same look for 50–80% less, especially for rattan seating, ceramic lighting, and natural-material dining pieces.

A couple of years ago, I finally pulled the trigger on the Serena & Lily bar cart I’d been eyeing for months. It was every bit as gorgeous as I hoped with natural rattan and clean lines. It was that effortless coastal vibe that makes your kitchen feel like it belongs in a Rhode Island summer house. I was beyond happy when it fit perfectly into our kitchen (picture below).

Then I looked around at the rest of my kitchen and realized that everything else needed to catch up. I wanted the same Serena & Lily look for my counter stools, overhead lighting, and dining table and chairs. Unfortunately, that one bar cart had already stretched my budget. I couldn’t exactly justify dropping another $800 on counter stools and $700 pendant lamp and I didn’t want to wait another year to get a few of these things. (When I’m looking to complete a project, I don’t have a ton of patience.)

Serena & lily

So I did what any self-respecting design-obsessed person does, I started researching. What I found genuinely surprised me. There are some really solid Serena & Lily lookalikes out there. I found several pieces that nail that same breezy, coastal kitchen aesthetic for a fraction of the price. Not identical, no. But close enough that your friends and family would likely never know the difference. Would I love to buy it all from Serena & Lily? 100%. But I also live in reality and know that is just not my financial situation (at the moment, ahem. Manifesting!) And if you’re into Serena & Lily bedroom lookalikes, head on over to this post.

Before we get into the dupes, it’s worth talking about why everyone is so obsessed with this brand because it’s not just hype. There’s a real reason Serena & Lily has built such a devoted following.

The brand has a very specific aesthetic: California coastal meets French bistro meets quiet luxury. Think natural materials like rattan, seagrass, woven textures and pair it with a soft palette of whites, blues, and sandy neutrals. Every piece feels intentional, elevated, and timeless. Nothing trends too hard or dates too fast. My entire house is painted in almost entirely different shades of blues and neutrals so it must be something I naturally gravitate towards.

Their Riviera Rattan Dining Chair, for example, was likely inspired by the classic Parisian bistro cafes of Les Deux Magots (where the likes of Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzergald used to hang out!). The Portside Counter Stool uses natural seagrass so that no two stools look exactly alike. Even their lighting, like the Como Bulb Table Lamp in a gorgeous coastal blue ceramic, has the kind of polish that makes a whole room feel pulled together.

The craftsmanship is genuinely excellent. Bloggers who’ve owned Serena & Lily pieces for years consistently report that they still look brand new given everything family life throws at furniture. That longevity matters.

But the price tags are steep. Counter stools start around $898. Dining chairs run $428–$768. Lighting hits $498 and up. For a full kitchen refresh, you’re easily looking at several thousand dollars. Which brings us to the good stuff…

How I Find Dupes That Actually Work

I’ll be honest: not all dupes are created equal, and I’ve learned this the hard way (RIP, the Amazon rattan chair that arrived looking like it had already survived a flood). Here’s what I actually look for when I’m hunting for Serena & Lily lookalikes:

Material quality. The Serena & Lily look is all about natural materials like real rattan, seagrass, and quality ceramics. A dupe that mimics the silhouette but uses cheap plastic or flimsy metal won’t capture the vibe. I look for pieces that specify natural fiber construction or quality ceramic finishes in the product details.

Silhouette and proportion. A lot of the Serena & Lily magic is in the shape. The slight curve of the rattan back. The heft of a good counter stool. The globe shape of a ceramic lamp base. I zoom into every product photo I can find and compare it against the original.

Customer reviews with photos. This is my most important research tool of them all. I scour the reviews and read what a number of people actually say. Yes, something may only have 4 stars but if you are actually reading the reviews you’ll likely find it may have gotten one-star ratings because people complain the box arrived damaged, while so many other people’s 4 and 5 star reviews are about the actual product itself. Also, star ratings mean nothing without photos. I scroll the review photos religiously, looking specifically for how the piece looks in a real home versus the styled product shot.

Color. Serena & Lily works in a very specific palette. Natural, white, coastal blue, sage, seaglass. If a dupe comes in those colors, it’s usually a better fit than a piece that technically looks similar but only comes in gray. The Best Serena & Lily Kitchen Dupes

Counter Stools and Bar Stools

The Serena & Lily Riviera Counter Stool and the Portside Counter Stool are two of the most searched pieces on the site, and for good reason. That hand-woven rattan bistro look is the kitchen moment right now. Both feature natural rattan or seagrass weaving, a bistro-inspired silhouette, and are available in natural, white, and navy colorways. For the dupe, look for rattan counter stools on Amazon or Wayfair with a woven seat and a metal or natural wood frame. Many come in at $150–$250 per stool.

Dining Chairs

The Riviera Rattan Dining Chair is one of Serena & Lily’s most iconic pieces. It’s a French bistro-inspired chair with a woven rattan seat and a lightweight feel that still manages to be genuinely comfortable. If you’re outfitting a dining table for six, the math gets painful fast.

French Bistro Chair

Rattan dining chairs in the bistro style are widely available, particularly on Wayfair and Amazon. The key is finding one with a full rattan back (not just accent weaving) and a seat that’s properly woven, not just printed to look that way. Budget around $100–$180 per chair for a solid lookalike. The one shown above is just under $170 for a set of two.

Lighting

The Serena & Lily Como Bulb Table Lamp ($648) is a showstopper. It has a round ceramic base in colors like coastal blue, sage, and navy, topped with a simple white shade. It’s the kind of lamp that makes a kitchen island or sideboard look instantly designed.

Ceramic table lamps in globe or bulb shapes are everywhere right now, and some of them are genuinely beautiful. I specifically look for ones in blue-green coastal tones with a linen or white shade. You can find strong options in the $60–$175 range that look similar like the one above.

Dining Tables

The Serena & Lily Southampton Dining Table is a statement piece with a marble top, rattan-wrapped base and the whole thing is stunning, obviously. Also, over three thousand dollars. What I wouldn’t give to have it! But I did find an affordable table that is similar. I looked for something that captures the same elevated, natural materials.

Tips for Styling Serena & Lily Lookalikes on a Budget

Okay, you’ve found your dupes. Here’s how to make the whole kitchen feel cohesive and intentional because a great dupe can fall flat if it’s not styled well.

Stick to the palette. Serena & Lily’s whole look relies on a very tight color story: whites, naturals, blues, and soft greens. If your dupe pieces stick to those tones, they’ll read as designed and deliberate. Introduce too many competing colors and the look gets muddy fast.

Mix the real with the dupe. This is my actual strategy, and it works beautifully. Invest in one or two genuine Serena & Lily pieces (mine is the bar cart, worth every penny) and fill in the rest with well-chosen lookalikes. The real pieces elevate the whole room, and the dupes don’t drag it down.

Layer in natural textures. A jute rug, a seagrass basket, linen dish towels – these details add the organic texture that makes Serena & Lily rooms feel so warm and layered. Most of these are affordable, and they do a lot of heavy lifting.

Don’t skip the lighting. This is an underrated one. The right lamp, even a dupe, can make a room feel finished in a way that no amount of styled surfaces can achieve. It’s worth prioritizing one good lighting piece.

Let it breathe. Serena & Lily rooms are never overdone. There’s always white space, always a sense of calm. Resist the urge to fill every surface and the look will come together naturally.

You Can Have the Look Without the Full Price Tag

I’m not going to pretend the dupes are identical to the real thing. They’re not. Serena & Lily pieces are genuinely well-made, and that quality shows up over years of daily use. But here’s my honest take: you do NOT need to spend full price on every single piece to get that coastal, elevated kitchen look you’re after.

Start with one splurge that anchors the room. Fill in the rest with pieces that capture the spirit: the materials, the silhouette, the palette. Style it thoughtfully. The result will feel every bit as intentional as the fully-outfitted version, just with a lot more money left in your budget for the things that matter more.

Happy decorating!
