Life, Lately: 10.2.26

And here we are in October, just like that. I feel like last week we were on spring break in Williamsburg, Va and now I’m pulling out my Halloween decorations and mapping out which weekends we’ll be going to football games and apple orchards. This is one of my favorite times of the year. Leaves changing, the first Pumpkin Spice latte of the season, pulling out my favorite sweaters and new fall tv. Even though my son is now in middle school, he still wants to do all the fun traditional fall things like carving pumpkins and going to the Halloween pop-up stores.

Speaking of new tv, we started The War last night. Holy hell… this is going to be gooooood. I’m convinced Sienna Miller does not age. This week was full of lacrosse practices, celebrating an 80th birthday, winning at trivia night for once, eating tons of tomatoes from my garden, decorating for Halloween, and doing some research on my latest post about casual blazers for everyday wear.

I saw a recipe for Italian Penicillin soup on Tik Tok and was waiting for the temps to drop a bit to make it, and I think I’ve found my new favorite go-to for this fall. It was SO delicious. I didn’t have a Parmesan rind on hand and I added a little turmeric for good measure but trust me when I saw how good this is.

This weekend we are having dinner with some good friends, attending a local Oktoberfest, and Sunday is full of back-to-back lacrosse games. Hopefully a nap is on the agenda somewhere a long the way. A few more things…

I ordered this sweater and was surprised by how cute it was. I never really know what I’m going to get when I order off of Amazon and was pleasantly surprised. I am going to order the stripe pattern as well.

We planted some hydrangea bushes and I found this guide to be really helpful. Fingers crossed they make it though the winter and really take root!

I am currently reading The Witches of Cambridge and next up on my list is The Haunting Of Whitehall Manor. Only spooky reads for October.

I’ve been wearing this necklace all week and always get tons of compliments.

I recently wrote a post about funnel neck jackets that are so cute for fall and I just ordered this one.

This article is a good read. It’s all about the death of the dinner party and the rapid decrease in socializing. Instantly made me put a few dates on the calendar to get together with some of our friends. Scary to think how disconnected we are becoming and how important human interaction and connection is for all of us.

In honor of welcoming in the month where I binge scary movies, I think I’m going to re-watch this gem over the weekend.

Alright, my lovelies. Have a wonderful weekend!

Oh, and check out my favorite casual blazers and the suede bags that I’m loving this season.
