The Ultimate Coffee Lover’s Gift Guide
I am confident that I can write this as a self-proclaimed coffee aficionado. I was a late bloomer when it came to drinking a cup of joe. Oddly, I never once had it in college during late night study sessions. Starbucks wasn’t a thing when I was I was young. I had my first taste of coffee in a train station in Venice, Italy (if you’re going have it for the first time, might as well be in Italy!). I was backpacking through Europe with a good friend. We had been an overnight train (from where? I cannot remember… possibly Switzerland?) that was a horrible, dirty, smelly ride and we didn’t get a second of sleep. We knew the second our feet touched the ground in Venice, we’d throw our backpacks in the lockers at the hostel and it would be hours and hours of making our way through the extremely confusing winding streets along the canals.

My friend, a coffee addict, told me to get an “Americano”. That it would help perk me up and hopefully push through the fatigue to get us to Piazza San Marco with our eyes open. Ok, I thought, I’m not going to like it but I’ll give it a whirl. Decades later, I can safely point to that moment and say I was a goner for coffee and espresso after leaving that Venice train station.

All that being said, coffee lovers take their passion seriously. We are picky about our beans, the way the coffee is made, the instruments to make the coffee, the perfect mugs (yes, I have only 2 mugs out of the 15 sitting in our cupboard that I like to drink my coffee out of), even the right descaling and cleaning products for coffee makers. An electric frother for my almond milk added to my espresso? Necessary. Specialty syrups to make the perfect iced cinnamon latte? Of course!
There is a myriad of things you can gift to that coffee nut in your life that will beyond please them. And i’m more than happy to share all of my picks!

Italian Conical Burr Mill Coffee Grinder
Great for someone who likes the art of actually making the coffee. This hand-crank grinder is not only a piece of art that sits on your counter, but this “analog” coffee grinder has no wifi, wires, buttons or electricity needed. Just getting back to the basics.
New York Coffee Cup
Even if you haven’t lived in NYC, I think we’re all familiar with these iconic cups that are always seen in television and in movies (hello, NCIS). The paper cup design originally used in many diners, bodegas and coffee carts was turned into a ceramic cup design for long-term use. It’s microwave and dishwasher-safe! So cute.
Owala Insulated Coffee Tumbler
I have this and use it regularly! It’s especially great for early morning school drop-offs, sitting on the sidelines during fall games or even taking it with me on morning walks. It comes in several different colors. I prefer the smaller 12oz size but it also comes in 20oz as well.
I tried to find things that were more than just your standard coffee equipment. If your person loves coffee, they likely already have a coffee pot or favorite mug. These ideas are a little more outside of the box and will help them enjoy that espresso, coffee or latte even more.
