Yes, Teddy Coats Are Still In Style In 2026
I recently had a friend of mine hem and haw over whether or not she can rock her teddy coat this fall and leading into winter 2027. First off, who cares what’s in style if it makes you happy. That’s my belief when it comes to pretty much anything (except maybe skinny jeans… I’m so glad those are not a thing anymore). But, to answer her question, of course teddy coats are still in style in 2026!! They are beyond adorable, warm and add an extra cozy mood to any outfit.

I like that they have that throw-on-and-go quality that I appreciate once the temperatures start dropping. I especially like how they can make even the simplest outfit feel a little more pulled together. Jeans, a sweater, boots, and a teddy coat? Pretty much all you need. I wear mine for everything from date night to school runs. They work in almost any situation (even a cute cropped teddy jacket over a cocktail dress? Yep, it works.)

And while the classic camel-colored teddy coat is always a favorite, I’ve been seeing some really pretty options in chocolate brown, cream, and even a few shorter, more casual styles. Whether you prefer something oversized and dramatic or a cropped jacket you can wear every day, there are plenty of ways to work one into your fall and winter wardrobe.
What’s new for teddy coats in 2026 and 2027? Step aside basic tan, black and cream teddy coats. This season we’re seeing a lot more in rich autumnal hues like burgundy, moss and rich earthy browns and mocha. These gorgeous colors make it feel fresh and just a bit more expensive looking than your everyday tan.
Here are some of my favs!
Full & Mid-Length Teddy Coats
Mid-Thigh and Shorter Teddy Coats & Jackets
Belted Teddy Coats
If none of these appeal to you, be sure you add faux fur and shearling coats and jackets into your search. They can often be interchangeable with teddy coats and look quite similar. My personal favorites? The Elie Tahari belted shawl collar coat and you can never go wrong with the classic Ugg Gertrude coat. I featured the long version, but it’s also cute in this shorter look. Stay warm out there!
